New Delhi: Taking a jibe at NDA's disastrous poll results in Bihar, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi a "very happy Diwali".
While addressing a press conference a visibly happy Gandhi suggested the PM to end his foreign tours and advised him to concentrate on nation building through good governance. "PM goes to China, US, he should also visit farmers and do some work for this country," he said.
"It’s time for him (PM) to start the engine and accelerate it. Please stop sloganeering and start working. It’s almost been a year, Modi’s vehicle hasn’t moved. Nation wants it to accelerate now or else like Bihar, entire country will boot you out", he added.
Advising PM to tone down his arrogance, he said, "It will be good for him and for the nation. This is a victory against an ideology that divides people. The country belongs to everyone. I want to congratulate the workers and leaders of Grand Alliance. This is a victory over arrogance. This is a victory for truth".
Hitting out at Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Gandhi said, "Modi and RSS cannot win elections by dividing this country. This country belongs to everyone and not to one religion. The BJP has to let go of this arrogance."
