Apple has released the big iOS 17.4 update with many EU-centric features but the next update might just focus on the basic things.

Apple continues with the internal testing of iOS 17.5 and at the same time it is ready to release the iOS 17.4.1 version, which has been identified with build number 21E235. Although specifics regarding the updates in 17.4.1 are undisclosed, a report from MacRumors suggests that the focus will be primarily on bug fixes and performance enhancements, rather than introducing new features.

Shared on a social media platform, known for its 'proven track record' on updating about upcoming iOS software updates on multiple occasions, Apple is preparing to imminently release iOS 17.4.1 which will likely address software bugs or security vulnerabilities.

The update will be released in “the next few days.” While the 'leak detail' might be pretty small, the small ones are often the most urgent and the most needed.

Meanwhile, Apple is already working on iOS 17.5, which is also expected to be released as a developer beta version as soon as this week. Now it is to be seen whether the beta comes first or the iOS 17.4.1 version. Apple released its iOS 17.4 version with a number of new features including alternative app store support in European Union countries.

Besides that, the update also includes transcripts in Apple Podcasts, improvements to Stolen Device Protection and Siri, and new emoji, among others. Notably, the change was brought in compliance with the European Union's Digital Markets App. Apple recently also announced that it has planned more changes for iPhone users in the EU. One such major change is that developers will be able to offer their apps for direct download on their websites.

Meanwhile. the latest update brings many other features and changes for iPhone users in other markets outside the European Union. The latest iOS update includes other enhancements and bug fixes to improve user experience followed by Apple Music and Apple Music Classical having a new music recognition tool, enabling an option for Siri to announce messages in any supported language, and more details about iPhone's battery health.

The company has also fixed the issue where contact pictures remained blank in the Find My tool and for dual sim users where the phone number changed from primary to secondary, remaining visible to a group where they had shared messages.
