In a tweet yesterday, Patanjali's spokesperson SK Tijarawala mentioned that the 'Kimbho' app is now live as India's "Swadeshi" app and is available to download on Google Play Store. The tweet reads ""Now Bharat will speak. After launching SIM cards, Baba Ramdev has launched a new messaging app called Kimbho, to take on WhatsApp. Our own #SwadeshiMessagingplatform. Download it directly from Google Play store." Kimbho is a Sanskrit word and according to Patanjai's spokesperson SK Tijarawala, it means "How are you? or What's new?"

Another tweet by the spokesperson mentions that the Sanskrit word "Kimbho" is used to ask how a person is, justifying the name of the app. As the Google Play Store description of the app reads, Kimbho is meant for "Private and Group chat with Free Phone and Video Calling." The app enables exchanging content in the form of "Text, Audio, Photos, Videos, Stickers, Quickies, Location, GIF, Doodle and more."

The app also allows its users to block unwanted conversations or users and is encrypted by AES for security, as per the description. Users can also personalize the app with their choice of wallpaper.

The instant messaging app by Patanjali comes just days after the launch of its own SIM cards in collaboration with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).

On Sunday, Baba Ramdev's Patanjali announced that it has tied up with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) and entered the telecom sector with the launch of Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM cards.

According to reports, only Patanjali employees and office bearers will initially get the benefits of the SIM card.
