BlackBerry Mercury or BlackBerry DTEK70 will feature what the company has been best doing over the years - making a QWERTY phone. Its major highlight has to be its QWERTY keyboard. Also, in a typical BlackBerry style, the Mercury is likely to offer a physical keyboard, which will be paired with the Android operating system. Also, there are some indications that the upcoming Blackberry phone could be called Blackberry 'Press'.

China's TCL Corporation had in January released a video teaser of Blackberry's upcoming smartphone with a physical keyboard as it will initially sell and promote the smartphone. What has been underlined in the licensing agreement between BlackBerry and TCL Communication Technology Holdings in December last year, the latter owns the right to make and sell BlackBerry-branded smartphones in all countries except Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh and India.

Earlier this month, BlackBerry inked an agreement to license BlackBerry software and services for the production of secure BlackBerry Android handsets in more global markets including India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh.
