OnePlus has launched its flagship smartphone for the year 2018 and it is about to hit the markets across the globe soon. With its launch, the OnePlus 6 created much hype around the world, with many even calling it the best smartphone of the year, at least to date. The claims are for all the right reasons as OnePlus put in all the top technology available in the smartphone industry into its flagship device. There is one feature that OnePlus 6 misses out on though and many are left wondering "why?". If you have also thought of why the company did not offer the in-trend feature of "wireless charging" on its device, even when it sports a glass back, here is the reason as pointed out by OnePlus representatives.
As per a recent report, the OnePlus officials have provided the following reason for not offering "wireless charging" on the OnePlus 6: "We don't really feel the need to add wireless charging. We're not going to add a feature just for the sake of it." To think of it, this statement has two solid reasons backing it up. One, is the fact that for wireless charging, users have to buy a wireless charger which is usually an outside accessory and not included with the smartphone. The other is that OnePlus already aces the charging mechanism on its smartphones through the Dash charging. Wireless charging would only slow down the process in all and hence, is of no particular use.

On a technical level, adding wireless charging support to the smartphone might have upped its cost than what it is. Since OnePlus is known for offering all the flagship specifications in a budget, this might have been a big no-no at the time of production of the OnePlus 6. Good or not, the absence of wireless charging has certainly kept the price of the device in check.
OnePlus is known for listening to its community and making the appropriate changes to its smartphones. In case the company feels that the feature they skipped out on was a must-have, it might add the same in its next release.
