Nokia 6 vs Moto G5 Plus Specs Comparison: Battle of Budget Android Smartphones
Just how good is the new Nokia offering and does it have enough firepower to overcome its competitor Motorola's hold on the market? Let’s find out.

Nokia has entered the Indian smartphone market today by launching its range of Android smartphones. The Android offerings by Nokia fall under the budget smartphone segment and hence face competition by many major smartphone players.

One such major player in this segment is Motorola with its Moto G5 smartphones. The Moto G5 Plus, with its starting price of Rs 14,999 stands directly in the way of Nokia’s success in the budget smartphone segment.

So just how good is the new Nokia offering and does it have enough firepower to overcome its competitor’s hold on the market? Let’s find out.

Moto G5 Plus

Let’s have a look at the reigning champion first. The Moto G5 Plus entered the Indian smartphone market with an equal amount of buzz as the Nokia created. The metal body smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display.

With a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, the Moto G5 runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat. It also sports a 12-megapixel primary camera with features like dual auto-focus, 4K video recording, f/1.7 aperture and a dual-LED flash. While the selfie snapper at the front comes with a 5-megapixel sensor.

The Moto G5 Plus is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery. At the price of Rs 14,999, Moto G5 Plus offers a 3GB RAM and a 16GB internal storage option. However, there is a higher variant too, with a 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage but that exceeds the price comparison here, with a cost of Rs 16,999.

Nokia 6

Time to focus on the contender. The new Nokia 6 Android smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a 2.5D screen with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The phone sports a metal unibody with a fingerprint sensor below the display.

Nokia 6 will also run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat but will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Chipset. Now, this might just be the biggest difference amongst the two smartphones.

While the Snapdragon 625 processor includes X9 LTE-modem, the Snapdragon 430 contains only the X6 LTE, meaning 2X peak download and upload speeds for the Moto G5 Plus. Also, the CPU comes with an octa-core structure in the Snapdragon 625 as compared to a quad-core one in the Snapdragon 430 processor.

Apart from this, the Nokia 6 will come with a 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage, expandable up to 128GB. Nokia 6 will also feature a 3,000 mAh battery, just like the Moto G5 Plus. In terms of camera, the Nokia 6 will feature a 16-megapixel primary snapper with phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash. There is also an 8-megapixel selfie camera on the phone.

All in all, both the smartphones score pretty much the same on specs comparison, the only difference being in their processor, where the Moto G5 Plus takes the lead. In terms of camera, the Nokia 6 comes with more megapixel count. An interesting thing to note is that both the phones will run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat.
