Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, the company behind the generative AI chatbot—ChatGPT, has revealed his most-used app on his phone. And no, it’s not ChatGPT, as you might have guessed.
On Microsoft founder Bill Gates’ podcast ‘Unconfuse Me with Bill Gates’, Gates asked Altman about his most-used phone app. Altman revealed that his most-used app is Slack, the popular team communication app. Apple’s iMessage came in second, and this also confirms that Altman uses an iPhone as his primary device.
“Slack. I wish I could say ChatGPT. A close second is iMessage,” Altman told Gates while discussing the most-used applications on their phones. “I didn’t quite count the browser as an app. It’s possible I use it more, but I still would bet on Slack. I’m on Slack all day,” he added.
That said, Slack has become the go-to team communications app for myriad organizations, thanks to its functional and feature-rich interface. Considering Sam Altman leads OpenAI as CEO, his usage of the app naturally increases.
Bill Gates Says Microsoft Outlook Is His Most-Used Phone App
As expected, Gates, too, was quick to share his most-used app—Microsoft Outlook. He uses Outlook for his email, and as a close second, Gates picked his phone’s web browser to surf the web and read news articles.
The podcast then went on to discuss how Altman and Gates are both concerned about the rapid pace at which everyday people and seasoned experts alike need to learn to adapt. Altman also talked about his firing and subsequent rehiring as the OpenAI CEO last November, and how Microsoft’s Satya Nadella wanted to hire him and many other OpenAI employees.
