Oppo Reno 11 Pro Delivers Style But Is That Enough?
Oppo Reno 11 Pro Delivers Style But Is That Enough?
Oppo Reno 11 Pro has a sleek and curved design with a reliable hardware and versatile cameras but does that make it a solid option for buyers?

The Oppo Reno series has evolved over the years but its main identity is based on design and cameras. The company continues with this strategy and the newly launched Reno 11 series is nothing different. Design can be a subjective matter but cameras are all about performance and the versatility that you expect with the multiple sensors on board.

The Reno 11 Pro is on our radar with this piece and for a phone that costs Rs 40,000 in the market, the company is banking on its core strengths rather than battling it out with the performance-hungry peers. The package definitely tries to improve on its predecessors and over here we tell you if the stylish Reno 11 Pro is worth its price tag.

Sleek And Stylish

Oppo has been known for its focus on design and style and you see those elements with the Reno 11 Pro. The new textured finishing at the back over glass has a different appeal that is hard to find in this range.

The giant camera module gives it an imposing stature but you don’t realise it thanks to the overall balance in the weight of the device which is just 181 grams.

The curved edges of the screen and the sleek body makes it easy to hold the phone, however, we did feel slightly worried about its delicate nature. The phone doesn’t get any official IP rating which can put off some of you.

Cameras Get You Excited, Almost

Oppo decided to continue using the same camera system on the Reno 11 Pro which did get us slightly confused. Why would you stand still rather than move ahead with an upgrade? That’s because, Oppo feels convinced about its software processing tweaks that are claimed to get better out of the triple rear camera sensors, including the portrait camera. The results were evident when we got to test the lenses, especially in daylight conditions where the colours and the detail remains intact.

The portrait camera gets a special mention for its ability to give you the details and sharpness that a portrait shot demands. The low light conditions were well handled by the main sensor, not so much with the secondary and the tertiary sensors. The details you capture with 2x and 3x zoom are also well defined, another plus about the camera and its marriage with the software tweaks.

Level-Headed Performer

Oppo is using the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset for the Reno 11 Pro that is only available with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage which is not expandable. The hardware under the hood is a capable performer that can handle most of the computing tasks and the daily rigour of most smartphone users.

Gaming is not its strongest focus which puts it below some of the other contenders in this price bracket. Coming to the software, Oppo Reno 11 Pro gets Android 14 with the ColorOS version that still has bloatware but thankfully you can remove most of them in minutes.

Oppo still has to consider going for a cleaner UI and let people decide if they want to use some of these pre-loaded apps, especially the ones you cannot delete.

Lasts Really Long

Oppo Reno 11 Pro has a 4,600mAh battery with support for 80W charging out of the box. You might be concerned about its backup but we can safely say that the size of the battery doesn’t hamper its usage.

In fact, you can easily get the phone to last for well over a day if your usage is mostly limited to web browsing and using social media apps with small bursts of music or watching videos. And if you do run out of juice, the bundled charger gets you up and running in less than half an hour.

Oppo Reno 11 Pro has a new stylish design, same cameras as its predecessor but with software tweaks and a new hardware. This gives you a competent package but the competition is tough in the sub-Rs 40,000 market and that’s where the buyers are spoilt for choices and can decide to spend based on their preferences.
