In honour of Jiya Shankar, a non-government organisation provided food to more than 100 underprivileged children. This thoughtful initiative was carried out by Jiya's dedicated fanbase, known as Jiya Ki Janta.

Jiya Shankar has been hogging the limelight lately. The Bigg Boss OTT 2 fame was recently showered with praise from fans for featuring in the music video Judaiyaan alongside Abhishek Malhan— her BB House co-participant. But apart from her stardom, Jiya Shankar holds a special place in the hearts of many because of her humble and down-to-earth personality. In fact, her ardent fanbase has acquired the term Jiya Ki Janta. Recently, on behalf of her fanbase, a charity organisation provided food to 100 underprivileged children and people. And Jiya was quick to react to the generous gesture in the most heartwarming way.

Thaagam Foundation — a “non-government organisation, working towards elevating the livelihoods of all living beings” took the initiative to feed the poor and needy by honouring Jiya Shankar. The organisation also arranged for a cake, feeding the underprivileged children who came together to show their love for the 28-year-old television actress. Overwhelmed at the kind act, on Friday, September 15, Jiya Shankar dropped a video on Instagram that captured the Thaagam Foundation engaged in these philanthropic activities.

Along with the post, Jiya Shankar penned a lovely note, expressing her gratitude to the little ones showering their love on her. “This was the video sent to me today and I’m so overwhelmed. My heart is full. The voices of these lil angels will forever echo in my ears. Jiya Ki Janta you guys make me so proud and I’m so grateful to every single one of you. You’re my safe haven, my guardian angels. Thank you.Thank you. Thank you. You guys are for life,” she wrote.

The video opens with the kids holding a paper cut-out of Jiya Shankar, bearing the Thaagam Foundation logo at the corner. They can be heard saying “We love you Jiya” sporting beaming smiles on their faces. Soon after they cut a cake with one of the staff members from the organisation giving the children a piece each. Food wrapped in foil containers with the words “With love from Jiya Shankar” were also handed over to other poverty-stricken people.
