Karan Kundrra has become a household name. The actor, who first gained widespread recognition for playing Arjun Punj in Kitni Mohabbat Hai, has also appeared in several movies. In a recent interview, he talked about his method for choosing roles and voiced his disapproval of comparing actors.
In a recent interview with ETimes, Karan Kundrra said, “You can’t have a rigid approach of only wanting to play certain roles unless you have reached that stage. I don’t want to delve into the complexity of what I deserve in films. Not every fantastic actor has got what they deserve.”
Karan Kundrra emphasised that his priority is to engage in projects where he does not feel wasted. He looks for “creative satisfaction or ego satisfaction” in his work, suggesting that even a small role can be fulfilling. He expressed contentment with his current position in the industry.
“I am not part of any rat race; I never was. People should stop comparing actors and allow them to take up projects that resonate with them,” he added. The TV actor mentioned if he gets a good role, he doesn’t care which medium it is.
Karan Kundrra recently appeared in the film Thank You For Coming and is also involved in various OTT projects. His last TV appearance was in Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal, which went off the air in 2023. Reflecting on his potential return to television, Karan explained, “The break from TV isn’t deliberate. I just need a great project to return with; I definitely won’t be a part of a saas-bahu drama. Some never return to television after entering films, but that’s not a thumb rule. I don’t wish to follow anyone’s path but chart my own course.”
He added that he never felt pressured to deliver hit programs or high ratings, trusting that his audience understands his choices and desire to carve out his own space in the industry.
