Anand Mahindra's Witty Reply To Man Asking For Rs 1 Lakh To Buy His Company Shares

Most of Mahindra’s X content is about inspirational videos and the developments in his many companies. However, the 68-year-old frequently replies to bizarre comments left by social media users on his posts, be it unprovoked requests for a free SUV or questions about building a car under Rs 10,000. Recently he responded to a man who randomly asked him for Rs one lakh so that he could buy shares in Mahindra’s company.

This saga started when Mahindra gave a shoutout to pioneering restaurateur Rohit Khattar in an X post. He posted pictures from Khattar’s new restaurant ‘Fireback’ which opened in Goa and wrote, “The irrepressible Rohit Khattar strikes again. After creating the phenomenally successful restaurant brands INDIAN ACCENT, COMORIN, HOSA & KOLOMAN, his company EHV International has just launched in Goa its 5th restaurant brand “FIREBACK”—showcasing exceptional Thai cuisine. On this post, an X user commented, “Sir mujhe 1 lakh rs chaiye mahindra ka share kharidna ka liya (Sir, give me 1 lakh rupees so I can buy Mahindra shares). Instead of ignoring this comment, Mahindra responded to it and wrote, “What an idea Sirji. Aapki himmat ke liye Taaliyaan! Poochne mein kya jaata hai? (What an idea Sirji. I applaud your bravery. What is there to lose by asking).” Mahindra’s witty reply has gathered over 21,000 likes.

In November this year, a man shared a photo of his colleague from Pune who closely resembled Mahindra. He wrote, “@anandmahindra You too can get shocked after seeing this person. My colleague from Pune, lookalike Anand Mahindra.”

Mahindra acknowledged the man’s resemblance and replied, “Looks like we were separated during some Mela in our childhood…” This post got over 13,000 likes.

Similarly, in May 2022, an X user named Raj Srivastava asked Mahindra, “Hey, can you make Mahindra cars for 10k?”

In response, Mahindra shared a photo of a miniature red car, modeled after Mahindra Thar. The businessman commented, “We’ve done even better; made one for under 1.5K.” Mahindra’s sassy response got over 4,000 likes.
