A woman has shared her unconventional methods to save money, including buying second-hand underwear and using donated breast milk. Apple Melecio, known for her frugal ways, doesn’t shy away from collecting discarded toys from parks for her child, much to her husband’s dismay. She believes in making the most of what others discard, like fixing broken toys or even creating new ones from mismatched parts. Her saving nature knows no bounds when it comes to cutting costs for her family. Victor, her husband, observes that Apple’s frugal habits escalated after Chloe’s birth. Now, she dedicates her free time to finding ways to reduce the family’s expenses. Apple has gone to extreme lengths, such as using donated breast milk to feed Chloe, instead of buying store-bought formula and repurposing old clothes into cloth diapers.

In a social media platform, Apple mentioned that since she stopped producing milk herself, she opted to collect it from friends and even colleagues. She further asserted that Chloe prefers her friend Jessica’s milk over others. She attributes her heightened obsession with saving money to having a baby, stating that while she was already thrifty after college, becoming a parent made her extremely frugal. Apple also shares her homemade baby wipes recipe and habit of reusing them, if they’re only slightly dirty. Instead of purchasing a new changing table for a significant amount of money, Apple seized the opportunity to acquire a free one from a gas station going out of business.

The couple admits that since becoming parents, they’ve had limited intimate time, especially when Apple dedicates her free time to hunting for discounts. In a bid to demonstrate that love doesn’t have to come with a price tag, they decided to prioritise time together. Apple took the initiative to visit a local charity shop to find the perfect outfit for the occasion, specifically opting for second-hand lingerie. She believes that purchasing lingerie from thrift stores is an excellent way to add excitement to their intimate life without breaking the bank.
