Brother Sets Up Sister's Matrimonial Profile as Raksha Bandhan Gift, Internet is in Splits

Raksha Bandhan is being celebrated today, August 19, to mark the celebration of the special bond between brothers and sisters. On this day, sisters traditionally tie a rakhi on their brothers’ wrists and they promise to protect them throughout their lives. Siblings also exchange presents to make the day special. As the festival is being celebrated today, many are sharing the Rakhi gifts they received from their brothers. However, instead of customary presents, one brother took a different approach. When his sister asked what he would be giving her for Raksha Bandhan, he simply created her profile on a matrimonial site as a gift.

“Why are brothers like this? I asked my brother what he was giving me on Raksha Bandhan and he made my profile on Jeevansathi.com!” wrote Rashi Pandey while sharing screenshots of her profile on the matrimonial site.

The bio on the platform reads, “She is a good girl, please koi jaldi leke jao hamare ghar se taki main iske room mein apna home-gym bana paun. Also, she graduated from IIM, toh dekhlo [“She is a good girl, so someone please take her from our house quickly so that I can turn her room into my home gym. Also, she graduated from IIM, so keep that in mind].”

The screenshot also mentions that the profile was created by her sibling.
