Girls Get Into Fist Fight Over Instagram Reel Comments, Police Watch On
The girls involved in the scuffle are students of class 9 and class 10.

It goes without saying that for teenagers social media presence has become a big part of their identity. The negative comments about them online can cause serious anguish. Now, an incident from Noida has emerged which shows how teens are ready to go violent and start a brawl over comments made on an Instagram reel. On Saturday, many social media accounts started posting videos that show four girls getting into a fierce fight with one another in a public place. The four girls, paired into groups of two pull each other’s hair, fistfight and even fall on the ground.

The people around them are heard talking about the ongoing scuffle but no one intervenes. Even a police personnel is spotted near the girls, but instead of stopping the fight, he stands as a passive spectator. On Saturday, an X user shared videos of the girl’s public fight and chastised the police for not intervening even as they stood right next to the girls. The X user wrote, “Despite the presence of police, nobody attempted to break up the fight between these girls in the middle of the road. What are the authorities now doing?”

Hindustan Times reported that the girls in the video are from class 9 and class 10. Girls from both groups are sisters. They had been fighting over some comments on Instagram reels and decided to meet at Biodiversity Park, Sector-93 in Noida. Instead of hashing out the matter, their real-life confrontation turned into a physical fight.

The portal added that the fight put a halt on the traffic as people gathered around to watch the girls fight. The videos show that they are fighting just on the sidelines of the road. They could have gotten into an accident if they strayed into the incoming traffic. It is unclear how the fight was resolved and who was at fault for instigating the matter.

This video once again points to the dangers of social media’s potential misuse among kids and teens. Parents and teachers should teach kids social media etiquette, inform them about issues like cyberbullying and teach them what to do if they feel they are being harassed online.
