This Toddler's 'Unimpressed' Reaction To His Birthday Celebration Is Pure Gold

Whereas for some people, such as introverts and the shy types who recoil at any attention, a big birthday party sounds nightmarish. Now a video of one such birthday-hating baby is going viral. Earlier this month, Monica Pearson shared a hilarious video from her one-year-old son’s birthday bash. In the video, Teddy is sitting on his high chair as people around him sing ‘Happy Birthday’. However, in the middle of the song, Teddy just slumps down and puts his head on his seat’s foldable table.

Teddy’s parents rub his back and coax him to get up but he refuses to pay any attention to the merry-making around him. Meanwhile, the guests continue to sing the birthday song between laughs. Monica Pearson first posted his video on TikTok but it soon went viral across social media platforms. Needless to say, Teddy’s unamused reaction, amused many around the world. His parents recently made a special Instagram account dedicated to Teddy. It is aptly named Teddy Unimpressed.

While sharing the clip of his birthday on Instagram, Teddy’s parents captioned the video, “Realized he’ll be paying bills soon.” Commenting on it, an Instagram user wrote, “This kid reminds me of Garfield a little!” Another person wrote, “I was like Teddy. I still hate taking pictures over 60 years later.”

Many people mentioned in the comments that they came looking for Teddy’s video after it was featured on their local TV. An Instagram user remarked, “Just saw this on my Pittsburgh local news this morning and this is the most accurate representation of 2024, he is very much an old soul.” Another person wrote, “I’m in Canada and saw the Tedster on CNN. While speaking to CNN about his son’s bemused reaction to his birthday celebrations, Monica Pearson said, “He was just overwhelmed, he had just had it. I feel like he is a grumpy old man who has been reincarnated.” His father spoke about why they picked up Teddy’s Instagram name as “Teddy Unimpressed” and said, “It is just that he has a very unimpressed look all the time.” Teddy’s Instagram account now has several pictures of him with his grumpy but adorable expression.
