The video depicts a pipe from an air conditioner on the top floor running down to connect with a cooler on a lower floor.

Indians and their “jugaad” never go out of fashion. They have a desi solution to every problem, tweaking innovative ways to resolve any issue. Now, Indians have chalked out an interesting plan to escape the brutal summer heat. Air conditioners and air coolers have become a staple in these scorching temperatures. Usually, water leakage is a common problem from ACs. But, in a viral video doing the rounds on the internet, someone settled the issue by redirecting the leaking water from an air conditioner on the first floor to a cooler on the ground floor with the use of a pipe.

The video which was dropped on X (formerly Twitter) on June 15 has been gaining traction ever since. It captures a man standing near a building and pointing at a pipe protruding from an air conditioner on the top floor. The pipe ran all the way down and was inserted into the backside of the cooler situated a few floors below. By redirecting the water, neither will the leaking water cause any damage to the AC system or the house and in return, cool air will be produced inside the ground floor rooms, offering relief to the members living there.

“This is Elon Musk,” read the hilarious note accompanying the post. The textual layout in the video read, “India is not for beginners.” Soon after the video surfaced online, social media users reacted to it.

Lauding the smart hack, a person commented, “Love it. Little things when done by many can make a huge difference.” “When you use 100 per cent of your brain,” quipped another. A proud Indian highlighted, “Sustainability is in our blood!” “999+ missed calls from NASA,” joked an individual.

Someone else was deterred by the idea of utilising the water from the AC pipe to act as a medium of cooling for a cooler. “On a serious note, the water from the AC is highly contaminated due to dirt and dust settled on evaporator oils of the indoor unit. This water is best drained. It contains bacteria, fungi, and other microbes which cause throat and other infections,” they advised.

So far, the video has clocked over 2 million views. What are your thoughts?
