Terrorists attacked two security installations in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. The militants targeted the Paramilitary Frontier Corps Headquarters in Mach as well as the Mach Jail. The terrorists were able to partially damage the prison’s wall.
The Baloch Liberation Army’s (BLA) Jeeyand Baloch faction claimed responsibility for the attacks in a statement and said another faction also contributed to the attack.
The BLA terrorists fired rocket launchers damaging the main door and boundary wall of Mach Jail. One policeman was killed and one truck driver was injured in the ambush.
The authorities first blamed the Aslam Acho group for the group.
The attack was made using highly sophisticated weapons and the gun battle between terrorists and Pakistani security forces lasted for several hours. “The terrorists have now retreated, and our security forces are currently in pursuit,” Balochistan’s caretaker information minister Jan Achakzai said.
People familiar with the developments told CNN-News18 that at least 15 rockets were fired from nearby mountains which landed in different areas of Mach town and resulted in explosions.
The terrorists launched an attack on a camp of the security forces near the central jail and also entered the Mach railway station.
The rockets landed and exploded near a camp of the security forces close to the Mach central jail, the prison’s residential area and other places in town.
