The pressure of a world cup final might be weighing heavy on the shoulders of Indian and Australian players but it hasn’t stopped them from sharing light moments.
India superstar Virat Kohli and Australia’s ‘Big Show’ Glenn Maxwell were involved in a playful banter during the titanic contest at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

The incident occurred during India’s innings when a throw from Maxwell was fired into the direction of Kohli at the striker’s end. Kohli ducked underneath while blocking it with his hand.

That led to Maxwell playfully firing a few words at his Royal Challengers Bangalore team-mate’s direction before Kohli shouldered him leaving the two smiling.
Meanwhile, Kohli peeled off a 72nd half-century leading India’s recovery after they lost two wickets in quick succession.
Kohli made 54 off 63 as he was bowled by Australia captain Pat Cummins in the 29th over. It was a typical knock from the India star as he struck four fours while adding 67 runs for the fourth wicket with KL Rahul.
Australia opted to bat first and prized opener Shubman Gill out as early as the fifth over with Mitchell Starc landing the blow.
Rohit Sharma though continued to bat aggressively and struck four fours and three sixes in a 31-ball 47.
India lost Rohit and Shreyas Iyer in the space of five runs leaving them in a tricky spot at 81/3. However, Kohli and Rahul stabilised the innings with a steady partnership.
Kohli thus finishes the world cup with a record 765 runs from 11 innings – the most by any batter in a single edition of the competition’s history. He struck three centuries and six half-centuries.
Rohit scored 597 runs from 11 innings at 54.27 including a century and three fifties.
This is India’s fourth appearance in the final of an ODI World Cup after 1983 (winner), 2003 (runners-up) and 2011 (winner).
