From Sleeping at 3 AM to Waking up at Noon, CSK's MS Dhoni Reveals His Daily Routine for IPL 2024

MS Dhoni may not be handling the leadership duties anymore but the crazy fanfare the iconic cricketer is still enjoying is simply incredible. With five Indian Premier League (IPL) titles under his belt, Dhoni is one of the finest skippers ever to feature in the competition. The legendary India skipper relinquished the captaincy duties of Chennai Super Kings ahead of this season’s IPL. Dhoni has also been coming down the batting order due to fitness issues but the hype and fan-following surrounding Thala has not even diminished a bit. The World Cup-winning skipper recently took part in an event where he spoke about his daily routine.

In a video, which has now gone viral on Instagram, MS Dhoni can be heard sharing his lifestyle. “I felt this is the right schedule to have for me. I sleep by 3 am. I get up by 11, 11:30, 12 whatever and then get on with the business. The reason is simple, I cannot sleep at 2 a.m., get up by, let’s say, 10 o’clock and if the game is at 7:30, I get restless. And then when we play a game, by the time we come back it’s actually late,” Dhoni shared.

“Then we have to pack our bags, keep it outside. So, then you cannot have a routine where one day you will sleep at 2 and the other day you sleep at 3:30 or 4, because your body does not work like that,” he added.

MS Dhoni was recently spotted taking part in a training session at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium ahead of the Chennai Super Kings’ match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru scheduled to be played on Saturday, May 18. The former CSK captain was even seen rolling his arms over in the nets.

A video of Dhoni’s bowling session was shared by Chennai Super Kings on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). “When he bowls, just ADORABOWL,” read the caption of the post shared by the five-time IPL winners on X.

MS Dhoni even paid a visit to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru dressing room and he was cordially treated to a hot cup of tea. A video of the heartwarming interaction was shared by the Bengaluru-based franchise on Instagram. “Welcome to Bengaluru, Mahi,” read the caption of the post.

With 14 points from 13 games, Chennai Super Kings currently claim the fourth spot in the IPL 2024 standings. A win against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Saturday will be enough for Chennai Super Kings to qualify for the next stage.
