The Mahindra Transport Excellence Awards (MTEA), in association with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), is back this year with its fifth edition to honour notable stakeholders in the transport industry. The committee recently opened entries to the prestigious awards.
According to the organisers, it’s an effort to appreciate those who take well-reasoned risks to deliver breakthrough products and services. A special effort is being made this year to identify those who seek out fresh diverse perspectives & for those who direct intellect towards customer-focused innovation. It is seen as an effort to make the award more relevant amid changing times.
New categories such as the Emerging Fleet Owner Award – for transport organizations that are less than 5 years old - shows how traditional awards like MTEA are embracing the youth and the changing face of business. The Youth Transport Personality and an exclusive Lady Transport Personality are also salient features in a category dominated by legacy businesses.
Another interesting category is one for highway dhabas. Mahindra takes pride in honouring service that has brought countless smiles on the faces of transporters and passengers alike. R K Food Point Dhaba was the first ever winner of the Highway Dhaba award through drivers’ votes.
Overall, the award will look out for those who understand the needs of their customers and offer quality products and services to not only delight but also to improve lives. It’s a search for those who put their customers at the centre of their business and build strong relationships with them while acting with the highest standards of integrity.
