Renowned SUV maker Jeep has entered the Indian market with three products – Wrangler, Cherokee and the Cherokee SRT. The American automaker has priced the Wrangler Unlimited at Rs 71.5 lakh, the Grand Cherokee Limited at Rs 93 lakh, Grand Cherokee Summit at Rs 1.03 crore and the performance-oriented Grand Cherokee SRT at Rs 1.1 crore (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
Jeep is owned by FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) and the launch in India has been highly anticipated ever since the first announcement of their entry during the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo.Also Read: 5 Awesome Facts About Jeep That's Launching Grand Cherokee and Wrangler in India
The company has planned to open ten dealerships in India. The first dealership will open in Ahmedabad and Delhi, followed by other cities like Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Kochi and Bangalore that will get dealerships later this year.
Apart from the Wrangler and the Cherokee, Jeep is also expected to launch another model by next year, currently called as the Jeep 551 (C-SUV), which will be manufactured at Ranjangaon in Maharashtra and is expected to be priced below Rs 20 lakh.
