Mitsubishi launched the Pajero Sport automatic in India on November 14 at Rs 23.55 lakh (ex-Delhi). The new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport automatic gets exterior updates over the manual version.
Changes to the interiors include the additions Mitsubishi made to the limited edition variant launched a few weeks back. These comprise a navigation system, integrated DVD player, reverse parking assist as well as a cooler box located in the boot.
Under the hood, the Pajero Sport automatic continues with the 2.5-litre, four-cylinder turbodiesel. Mitsubishi is not offering the Pajero Sport automatic with a 4x4 option. The five-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels in the AT and chances are high that it will be more fuel efficient than the 4x4. The Pajero Sport manual claims a fuel efficiency of 12.1kmpl.
The Pajero Sport automatic will appeal to those looking for a stress-free driving experience along with the dominating presence of an SUV.
The SUV will compete with the Santa Fe, Honda CR-V, Fortuner and Rexton automatic variants. The only limiting factors will be the lack of a 4x4 for off-roading and the relatively smaller number of sales and service outlets for Mitsubishi in India.
