Railways Cancels 24 Long Distance Trains Starting July-end, Check Details Here
The cancellation is primarily due to the ongoing doubling of tracks between the Shahjahanpur-Lucknow and Roza-Sitapur City railway sections.

Northeast Railway on Tuesday announced the cancellation of 24 long-distance trains from the last week of July through early August, impacting travel plans for thousands of passengers. The decision comes as the railway undertakes significant infrastructure upgrades on key routes in Uttar Pradesh. The cancellation is primarily due to the ongoing doubling of tracks between the Shahjahanpur-Lucknow and Roza-Sitapur City railway sections. This development necessitates the temporary suspension of a dozen trains, while routes of several others will be modified during this period.

Passengers, especially those traveling from Bihar to destinations such as Jammu for the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage, as well as Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi, are likely to face inconvenience due to these cancellations. A spokesperson for the Northeast Railway assured that normal operations are expected to resume after the first week of August, once the infrastructure work is completed.
