The leading car maker Tata Motors, which has been witnessing great sales for the past few months, has rolled 1 millionth unit from Sanand’s facility in Gujarat. It is the same plant, where the company manufactures its top lineup, which includes Tiago.ev, Tiago, Tigor, Tiago iCNG, Tigor iCNG, Tigor EV, and XPRES-T EV.
As per the official details, the Sanand plant was built in 2010, and is considered the youngest facility nationwide. It is spread over 1,100 acres, which includes Vendor Park with a massive space of around 359 acres. The factory employs almost 6,000 people, who are assembling each product carefully before releasing it in the market.
Here’s What Company’s MD Says
Speaking about the achivement, the company’s Managing Director called the Sanand plant pivotal in bolstering the growth of the brand. He informed that the sole purpose of setting up the factory is to deliver small cars in a timely manner.
Earlier, at the start, the plant was capable of producing 1.35 lakh units, which now has been increased to 1.9 lakh. The decision was taken to give a major boost to the capacity after witnessing a huge demand from customers in the mid-size segment.
It has been informed by the company’s MD that the factory discontinued assembling the diesel models. It seems like the focus has been shifted towards EV or petrol-powered models.
EV Plans in 2025
Meanwhile, Tata Motors has been working to boost its offering in the country. It aims to introduce at least five battery-powered cars by 2025. It has been reported that the upcoming models are likely to be big in battery size, offering good range, power and smooth driving segment to the customers.
