Sanjay Leela Bhansali is one of the prominent directors of Indian Cinema, who is a name behind cult classics like Khamoshi, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Black, Guzaarish, Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Padmavat, and Gangubai Kathiawadi. Everyone is well mindful of his cinema which is rich in its classic craft and entertainment quotient. Over the last few months, a lot has been spoken about Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next film. While the filmmaker is presently busy with the post-production of the Netflix Original, Heera Mandi, it has now been reported that the filmmaker is all set to announce his new magnum opus in March 2024.
With things silently moving ahead in motion, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is committed to starting a new feature film for the big screen in 2024. While the audience always awaits to see his next, this one too is an ambitious project and a story that is close to the filmmaker’s heart, which is going to come as yet another cinematic gem from the house of SLB. Without much delay, SLB is targeting to announce the film in March 2024.
Interestingly, this comes days after it was reported that Bhansali has put Baiju Bawra on hold. The film is likely to star Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead. Reportedly, not Baiju Bawra but Bhansali will begin working on his other movie titled Inshallah soon.
“Inshallah is a step in a new direction for Sanjay Leela Bhansali in today’s time and even he is in the mindset to explore a rather light-hearted romantic comedy, stepping back from the intense period dramas. SLB has met SRK a couple of times over the last few months. It’s a story and character which suits Shah Rukh Khan’s personality and he is in conversations to get him on board,” a source close to the filmmaker said earlier this week. However, it should also be noted that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has not issued any official statement from his side as of now.
