Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer action-drama film Fighter has stormed into the Rs 100 crore club worldwide within days of its theatrical release. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film has not only been a commercial success but also garnered critical acclaim for its compelling narrative and powerful performances. In a recent interview, Siddharth Anand spoke about the warm response he received from Hrithik’s father and filmmaker, Rakesh Roshan.

During an interview with Pinkvilla, Siddharth shared, “Rakesh Ji saw it one day before the release, and his reaction stunned all of us. He was like a child, so excited and happy, and I was like, ‘This is so genuine.’ The fact that he just loved the film and the film is beautiful. It’s such a feel-good film that you come out proud being an Indian from a patriotic point of view and also that a picture like this has been made in India).”

Reflecting on the creative process behind Fighter, Siddharth expressed that films like these come together organically. “You can’t set out to make a film like Fighter. It just happens. In India, films like these, made in India, make you feel proud. That’s also a layer of pride that we have also made a picture like this. That is Fighter,” he added.

Following the success of Fighter, Siddharth Anand expressed his enthusiasm for exploring a different style, moving away from action. When questioned about the possibility of a romantic comedy with Hrithik Roshan, the director disclosed that he has been encouraging Hrithik to consider a rom-com for some time now. However, the current obstacle revolves around the absence of a suitable storyline for the proposed romantic comedy.

Fighter is inspired by India’s airstrike in response to the Pulwama terrorist attack. It boasts an ensemble cast, with Deepika Padukone portraying Squadron Leader Minal Rathore, Hrithik Roshan as Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania (Patty), and Anil Kapoor in the role of Group Captain Rakesh Jai Singh (Rocky). The film also features stellar performances by Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Rishabh Sawhney, Ashutosh Rana, Talat Aziz, and others in supporting roles. As the movie continues to soar at the box office, it seems Fighter is well on its way to becoming a cinematic phenomenon of the year.
