But the board has asked the promoters to build it within a year.
New Delhi: A much-awaited nod by the Maharashtra Government brought good news for Reliance Industry Chairman Mukesh Ambani's Navi Mumbai SEZ.
However, the board has asked the promoters to build it within a year and the infrastructure should ensure contiguity on the 1,250 hectares land.
The Navi Mumbai SEZ proposal had been deferred twice by the Board of Approvals (BoA) on issues of contiguity and rights of villages in the vicinity of the zone.
Twenty-one other proposals have been approved while for seven others in-principle nod has been granted by the BoA.
Other prominent cases which got formal approval include one from Hindalco.
