New Delhi: The partial lockout of the Kingfisher Airlines is likely to be extended again on Friday. The partial lockout, which was initially announced by the carrier till October 4, was earlier extended till October 12 by the management citing "illegal strike" by its staff.
According to sources, the employees of Kingfisher Airlines have made it clear that they will not join back work till they get their salaries. The employees are also planning to launch further protests as part of their nation-wide agitation against the management for not paying their salaries.
This comes two days after Kingfisher Airlines CEO Sanjay Aggarwal had on October 9 sent a letter to all employees urging them to join back work. However, the employees said that there was no mention about their salaries in the letter, because of which the request was not accepted.
Meanwhile, sources have said that the airline has shifted the date of online bookings from October 13 to October 21. The airline has to reply to the show-cause notice of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) by October 20. The regulator had sent them a notice on October 5 asking why they should not cancel their license.
