TCS made job offers to 1,006 students on the campus.

New Delhi: IT major Tata Consultancy Services is on a hiring spree. The company recruited a record number of management graduates from Chennai’s Anna University after taking an online test on the campus.

TCS made job offers to 1,006 students of Anna University this year. This is the largest number of offers given by the company anywhere in India at a single institute, according to a company statement.

The placement programme for the final year students was jointly inaugurated by D. Viswanathan, Vice-Chancellor, Anna University, and S. Ramadorai, CEO, TCS.

A total of 2,330 students had registered for the test, which included 1,270 undergraduate students and 1,060 post-graduate students. Among the 1,006 students selected 668 were graduates and 338 were post-graduates.

TCS is the first company to conduct campus interviews at the Anna University this year. A total of 60 panelists participated in the recruitment process.

The effort had logistics support by a team led by the Anna University’s Centre for University Industry Collaboration (CUIC) Director Mannar Jawahar.
