Days Before Leo Hits Cinemas, Fake Ticket Sale Scam Busted In Madurai
Scammers were selling fake tickets in the name of Gopuram Theater in Madurai.

Leo is one of the most anticipated films of the year and is all set to hit the cinemas on October 19, Thursday. The demand for the film’s ticket is huge, and it is expected to storm the box office. Amid all this, the scammers are using this as an opportunity to earn money. One scam related to the sale of Leo’s tickets for the first day, first show in Madurai has come to the fore. Gopuram Cinema Management has complained to Sellur Police Station, Madurai, Tamil Nadu on Monday, reported ANI. The theatre asked to take action against the people who sold fake tickets in the name of Gopuram Theater in Madurai, while the ticket bookings for this film were available online.

According to local reports, Gopuram Theatre will be screening the first show of Leo at noon. The tickets are being sold online, yet there are tickets for a fake 9 am show, which are being sold on WhatsApp. When a person who bought the ticket for the 9 a.m. show contacted the theatre to confirm the show timing, it was revealed that he bought a fake ticket.

This is not the first case that highlighted the scam of fake film tickets in Madurai. Earlier, some fake tickets were reported to be sold in a theatre in Madurai. The tickets were sold for a special premiere screening of Leo on October 18, a day before the film’s official release. The theatre owners clarified and warned the cine-goers that they had been scammed as the theatre had not started selling the tickets for the film at that time. The theatre tweeted, “Dear Vijay Fans. This is to inform you all that we have been notified of fake ticket sales in recent days. So, we kindly request everyone not to buy those proxy tickets, as our Cinipriya Management will not be responsible for those Tickets. Thanks! With love, Cinipriya Complex.”

Leo is directed and written by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film has a stellar star cast including Thalapathy Vijay, Sanjay Dutt, Trisha, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Arjun, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mysskin, and Priya Anand. Leo is produced by SS Lalit Kumar and Jagadish Palanisamy, and the music has been scored by Anirudh Ravichander. The film is reportedly made on a huge budget of Rs 250 to 300 crore.
