Vijay’s action thriller has surpassed the ₹200 crore milestone in India, although it saw a slight dip on Dussehra. As per initial estimates from Sacnilk.com, the film gathered ₹31.5 crore nett across all languages on Tuesday. This brings its total domestic collection to ₹248.6 crore.
On Monday, however, the box office collections of the Vijay started to crash worldwide. The film has only managed to collect Rs 39.14 crore worldwide on its fourth day. The film has collected Rs 248.6 crore nett in India so far.
Sharing the box office figures on his official X account, Manobala wrote: “Overseas markets have started to crash, this is unusual for a Lokesh Kanagaraj film. Normally the director film increase day by day, but in Leo it goes down each passing day. Jailer in first 4 days posted a fantastic Rs 302.89 cr across the world.”
Leo premiered in theaters last Thursday with an initial collection of Rs 64.8 crore, with Tamil shows contributing Rs 49 crore. Despite mixed to negative reviews and negative word of mouth, the film’s earnings dropped to Rs 35.25 crore on its second day. There was a slight improvement on Sunday, with collections reaching Rs 41.55 crore, but the momentum slowed down again on Monday.
Leo, an action thriller, also stars Arjun Sarja, Gautham Menon, Mysskin and Priya Anand in pivotal roles. Rathna Kumar and Deeraj Vaidy co-wrote the script with Lokesh Kanagaraj. The music for the film has been scored by Anirudh Ravichander and its cinematography and editing have been helmed by Manoj Paramahamsa and Philomin Raj, respectively.
News18 Showsha’s review of Leo read, “Thalapathy Vijay’s performance is easily one of the highpoints of Leo. Trisha gets a decent screen time, but her character doesn’t add much value to the story. Filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon has given an effortless performance. On the other hand, Sanjay Dutt is unfortunately wasted in the film. His charisma seems to be missing and his character looks weak in front of Vijay’s character in the film.”
