Vijay Antony Promotes Raththam 9 Days After Daughter's Death; Director Says 'How He Chooses...'

Tamil actor and music composer Vijay Antony on Thursday decided to return to work and promote his upcoming movie Raththam, nine days after his elder daughter Meera died by alleged suicide. Producer G Dhananjeyan shared Vijay’s glimpses from the promotional interviews of their upcoming film Raththam.

Sharing the photos, the producer wrote, “True example of professionalism, care for his Producers & Audience by @vijayantony sir – supporting our film #Raththam by being a part of promotional interviews with @csamudhan @ @Mahima_Nambiar today to various channels. A great inspiration & benchmark for the industry, by the man who rises above his personal tragedy to support his Team. Thank you sir.”

Director CS Amudhan shared: “Guys I assure you that for all of us involved in this, promoting the movie is very low on our priorities… there are things beyond our control and impacting the lives of many people. Also there is the thing of what the man himself wants and how he chooses to cope.”

Vijay’s fans also praised the actor for putting on a brave face in the toughest time in his life. A fan said, “World can’t afford another Vijay Antony! You are just an inspiration! More power to you sir!”

Last week, Vijay Antony reacted to his daughter Meera’s death. Taking to his social media handles, an emotional Vijay said that he also died from inside following her death.

Taking to X (previously known as Twitter), Vijay Antony said (literal translation), “My daughter Meera is the most kind-hearted and brave. She has left this world and gone where there is no creed, caste, religion, money, jealousy, pain, poverty, or evil. She has gone to a place that is peaceful. (I feel) she is still talking to me.” He added, “I also died from within when she died. Now, I have started to spend time with her.”
