Rohit Sharma’s Team India will aim at ending the decade-long draught of ICC titles when they face South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024 final on Saturday in Barbados. The Indian captain has stormed back to form with back-to-back fifties and is currently the third highest run-getter in the tournament. While the experts are already impressed with Rohit’s leadership in the ongoing tournament, his opponents have also heaped massive praise on him ahead of the mouth-watering final.
In a video shared by Star Sports on social media, the likes of Keshav Maharaj, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller and Kagiso Rabada shared their opinion on the Team India captain.

“I have always been a huge fan of Rohit Sharma. From a batting perspective, he is fearless. From a leadership perspective, you can see he read the game very well. He finds a way to throw everyone in together and make everyone feel comfortable. But I also feel, his tactfulness on the field to approach each character and bring out the best in them is something that stands out for me,” said Keshav Maharaj.
Klaasen hailed Rohit as one of the great cricketing minds, highlighting his ability to play with the opposition’s ego.
“I think he has got an unbelievable cricket brain. Very gutsy. He makes a lot of brave calls as a captain. He does play on your ego a lot. I’d like to have a conversation about how he thinks. He is a special cricketer. When he is in form, there are not a lot of bowlers who can bowl at him. Hopefully, he won’t be in form against us (in the final.),” said Klaasen.

Calmness was also one of the factors about Rohit pointed out by Miller and Rabada.
“He’s always calm. Seems like he’s got it all together,” said Miller.
Rabada attributed Rohit as ‘one of India’s greatest batters as said, “He’s always chilled.”
Last gig of Rohit, Kohli?
The Indian fans would like to see the two greats do a memorable tango in probably their ‘Last Dance’ in the game’s shortest format, at least in India colours.
If one understands the drift of Indian cricket’s ecosystem, whether it is the BCCI mandarins or the national selectors, they want the troika of Kohli, Rohit and also Ravindra Jadeja to go out on a high from the format. This is because next month’s Zimbabwe series would certainly usher in a new dawn keeping in mind the 2026 T20 World Cup in India.
