In the end, Ayush Badoni’s unbeaten fifty carried LSG to 165/4 against SRH on a slow pitch. For Lucknow Super Giants, Badoni (55 not out) and Pooran (48 not out) pushed them forward after they elected to bat first.

Pooran and Badoni added 99 runs for the fifth wicket for SRH. The Pooran-Badoni pair helped the visitors post a total, which did not look possible at the 13th over mark.

After opting to bat first, Lucknow had a far-from-ideal Powerplay, which saw them lose Quinton de Kock and Marcus Stoinis. As a result, they could only manage 27 runs in that phase, Lucknow’s lowest Powerplay score of the season.

KL Rahul perished in his quest to break free while Krunal Pandya, sent in at number 4, looked good but gifted his wicket away while attempting a tight single.

Ayush Badoni came out with intent on his mind and while the other experienced batters struggled, he seemed to bat on a different surface. He along with Nicholas Pooran, injected life into the Lucknow innings through their unbeaten 99-run stand.

Pooran missed his fifty by 2 runs but Badoni got to his half-century off 28 balls, the fastest of his IPL career.

For SRH, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the most successful bowler (2/12).
