The match between Lucknow SuperGiants (LSG) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Friday was yet another demonstration of just how crazy the fans are when it comes to MS Dhoni. The match was played at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow but the CSK fans assembled at the stadium made it look like Chepauk in Chennai.
The fans erupted with joy when Dhoni walked out to bat in the 18th over, and he played a ravishing innings, much to the sheer ecstasy of the sellout crowd donning yellow. The wicketkeeper-batter scored a quick-fire 28 runs in just 9 balls with a strike rate of 311.
After LSG defeated CSK by eight wickets, the players from both sides lined up for the customary handshakes. One particular moment that has caught the attention of the fans on social media, though, involved KL Rahul, the LSG captain, and MS Dhoni, the former CSK captain.

Before KL Rahul shook hands with the former Indian captain, he took his cap off as a sign of respect, the video for which has since been doing the rounds online. Rahul had his cap on while shaking hands with the current CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, based on which it is safe to assume that the special gesture was reserved for Dhoni.

KL Rahul also received the Man of the Match award for his brilliant performance.
“I would have been happy with 160. Felt the wicket was slow, with a bit of grip but not too much. 160-165 would have been ideal. But MSD walks in and the bowlers feel intimidated. He walked in and the bowlers were under pressure, the crowd was really loud, he hit those sixes…has done it in the past,” said KL Rahul.
LSG registered their fourth win of the campaign but remained outside the top four, level on points with fourth-placed Sunrisers Hyderabad and third-placed Chennai Super Kings.
