MS Dhoni Leans in For A Pat On The Back From Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, as Both CSK Leaders Share Funny Moment - WATCH
Before the start of the second innings against MI, the old guard of Chennai MS Dhoni leaned in towards the new leader Ruturaj Gaikwad for a pat on the back as a token of appreciation for his outing earlier, as both leaders shared a lighthearted moment.

The years may roll on, but MS Dhoni’s entertaining antics always remain the same. The talisman ex-Indian and CSK skipper produced yet another light-hearted moment for fans to relish, as Chennai Super Kings took on heated rivals Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede yesterday.

CSK lost the toss and was sent out to bat first. But the Chennai side got off to a rough start, losing Rahane early and struggling to find a consistent flow of runs before losing Rachin Ravindra as well.

It was then the new skipper, youngster Ruturaj Gaikwad, who took control and put up a captain’s knock to steer his team away from trouble and push them towards a competitive total, along with the aid of hard-hitting sensation Shivam Dube. Both of them put up respective 50+ scores each, and were pivotal in reviving the innings for Chennai.

But, the man who stole the show was none other than the iconic ‘Thala’ MS Dhoni himself.

The famed finisher came in to bat in the 20th over, with four balls remaining, off MI’s new skipper Hardik Pandya, and it took no longer than the first ball to make his impact, as Dhoni whacked Pandya for a classic six, sending even the Mumbai crowds wild.

He was nowhere near done yet, as the legendary finisher would go on to whack two more sixes in the next two balls, before finishing the innings with a double, helping CSK post a fiery total of 206 runs.

After his innings was done, and the wicketkeeper went in to change into this behind-the-stumps attire for the next innings, the old guard of Chennai Dhoni leaned in towards the new leader Gaikwad for a pat in the back as a token of appreciation for his outing earlier.

Gaikwad obliged with a smile as the duo then ventured out to finish what they had started and clinch the win for their side, the fourth of this season.

Ultimately, despite Rohit Sharma’s inspiring unbeaten century, MI fell short by 20 runs, exactly what Dhoni put up on the board for CSK in his outing, and CSK took home the glory.

After the match, Gaikwad also praised MS Dhoni’s performance, thanking the ‘young wicketkeeper’ for being the point of difference in their match.

“Our young wicketkeeper scoring three sixes down the order helped a lot and I think that was the difference,” Gaikwad said at the post-game presentation.
