'Only If We Apply Our Brains': Yuvraj's Advice To Abhishek Sharma After Run Out In 1st IND-BAN T20I Goes Viral
Abhishek Sharma scored 16 runs from seven balls in the first T20I for India against Bangladesh, which was played in Gwalior on Sunday.

Abhishek Sharma opened for India in the first T20I against Bangladesh, which was played in Gwalior on Sunday (October 6), but he failed to convert his good start into a big score. He returned back to the pavilion after making 16 runs from seven balls for the Suryakumar Yadav-led side in the 128-run chase. The 24-year-old left-handed batter was run out by Towhid Hridoy on the last ball of the second over when he tried to take a single.

The manner of Abhishek’s dismissal in the first T20I against Bangladesh didn’t go down well with former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, who took to Instagram to share important advice for him. While replying to a fan’s comment on Abhishek’s post, which read, “Can feel a big one coming,” Yuvraj said, “only if we apply our brains properly.”

Abhishek, who was part of the Indian team that won the U-19 World Cup title under Prithvi Shaw’s leadership in 2018, shares a close bond with Yuvraj. The hero of India’s 2011 ODI World Cup title win is a mentor of Sunrisers Hyderabad batter and has worked very closely with him in the last few years.

Abhishek made his T20I debut for India on July 6, 2024, against Zimbabwe in Harare. He failed to open his account in the series opener but hammered a century in the next match played at the same venue on July 7. The Amritsar-based cricketer played in all five matches of the India-Zimbabwe T20I series but was ignored for the India-Sri Lanka T20I series later that month.

2nd T20I in Delhi

After hammering Bangladesh by seven wickets in the series opener, India would like to maintain the top show in the second T20I as well, which is scheduled to take place at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday (October 9). A win in the second T20I will help India win the series against the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side. However, it won’t be an easy task for India to get the better of Bangladesh in Delhi.

The visitors have some very fond memories of playing in Delhi. Their only T20I win over India came at the same venue in November 2019.
