Ravichandran Ashwin Loses Cool During TNPL Eliminator Match, Video Goes Viral - WATCH
Ashwin's Dindigul Dragons defeated Chepaul Super Gillies by four wickets in the eliminator match of the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League 2024.

Star Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was seen losing his cool over a teammate during the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2024 match played on Wednesday (July 31). The incident took place during the eliminator match, which was played between Ashwin’s Dindigul Dragons and Chepauk Super Gillies at the NPR College Ground in Dindigul.

Ashwin was spotted bashing one of his Dindigul teammate and seemingly even abusing him. Quite desperate to win the eliminator match, Ashwin got furious for the not-so-satisfactory run-out incident between Baba Indrajith and Shivam Singh.

While Indrajith punched a length ball towards the mid-off, Shivam called for a single, leading to a slight hesitation. Eventually, as the two batters ran for it, one of the fielders fired in and hit the non-striker’s end to dismiss Indrajith.

This was it, and Ashwin lost his cool instantly. In a video going viral on the internet, the star spinner can be seen yelling at his team’s batter, most probably at Shivam for the risky single.

The video has grabbed a lot of attention on social media, with many praising the player for his intense dedication, even though it wasn’t a big-stage match. Some even compared him to Virat Kohli, who is well known for ‘angry celebrations’ and on-field aggression. “Twitter is not ready for another Kohli,” the video’s caption read.

In reaction to the video, many took to the comment section and dropped hilarious replies. One wrote, “He is a different beast in TNPL. Taking a second review after the third umpire ruled as not out is the most hilarious one.”

Another commented, “Rare of the rarest moment when Ravichandran Ashwin looking so angry. Cool down Ash Anna.”

“Never Seen before Aggression from Ashwin Anna Always thought he was as calm as Thala MS Dhoni, but we all have seen seen rare rage from MS too,” a comment read.

Fifty for Ashwin

Ashwin came out to bat at No. 3 for the Dragons against the Super Gillies in the 159-run chase and added 112 runs for the second wicket with Shivam, who top-scored by making 64 runs. Ashwin, on his part, hammered 57 runs from 35 balls with the help of four fours and as many sixes.
