Away from India’s T20 set-up, Rohit Sharma has begun preparation for the upcoming New Zealand Tests, starting 16 October in Bengaluru. The Indian skipper headed to Mumbai’s Reliance Corporate Park Cricket Ground to train but was mobbed by a large group of cricket fans.
Several videos doing rounds on social media suggest that Rohit has kicked off his training for the upcoming 3-match series against New Zealand.

But after sweating it out when the Indian skipper was leaving the facility, a large number of fans entered the ground and surrounded him to have selfies and autographs.
Rohit could also be heard asking the fans to slow down, further requesting them to leave the field.

Rohit Sharma recently led India to a convincing 2-0 Test series victory against Bangladesh. India claimed a seven-wicket win in the second Test to complete the whitewash.
Revealing his strategy in the Test series final, Rohit told BCCI TV, “Aggression is all about my actions. The kind of batting we do, field positioning and bowling we do, that to me is aggression. This wouldn’t have been possible without the other 10 players. We had lost 2-and-a-half days. It was easy for everyone to drift away from the goal we had.”
The victory against Bangladesh helped India strengthen its position at the top of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 points table. They have 74.24 PCT% now. Defending champion Australia is in 2nd place with 62.50 PCT%, and the two finalists of the 2023 WTC are followed by Sri Lanka (55.56 PCT%), England (42.19 PCT%), South Africa (38.89 PCT%), and New Zealand (37.50 PCT%).
After losing two back-to-back Tests against India, Bangladesh has now dropped to seventh position with 34.38 PCT%.
If India manages to win at least four of the remaining eight matches and avoid any penalty, then they will be guaranteed to finish in the top two and qualify for the third straight World Test Championship (WTC) final.
