The Royal Challengers Bengaluru were not off to an ideal start during their chase of 223 runs against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens as Virat Kohli left the pitch fuming with regards to his mode of dismissal.
KKR’s pacer, Harshit Rana had bowled a high full-toss down the leg-side and seemed to be well above the waist height when Kohli had played a pull-shot which the bowler then caught to give him a crucial wicket.
Replays had shown that Kohli was well outside the crease when he faced the delivery and ball tracking shows that the ball would have been below the waist-line had he been batting inside the crease. Which both Kohli and RCB skipper Faf du Plessis did not agree to.

Fans got to see the aggressive side of Kohli as he was unhappy with the umpire’s decision on that dismissal and as he walked back to the dugout, he was seen swinging his bat around and eventually struck down the trash can in frustration.

Andre Russell was able to pick out both the batters but Dinesh Karthik took the game deep with a quick cameo of 25 in 18 balls. However, the game went down to the final ball as Karn Sharma chipped in with 20 in 7 balls as they needed 3 off the final ball.

But a fine take from KKR’s keeper, Philip Salt under pressure meant that RCB came out of the game as the losers and continued languishing at the bottom of the table. Without Kohli’s dismissal, it could have meant that RCB completed a historic chase and gained some much-needed momentum in their favour to turn their season around.
