BHU Admission 2024: The admission process aims to fill up 8,500 PG seats, including approximately 5,000 seats in the BHU campus itself

The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and its associated colleges have announced the schedule for the first phase of the seat allocation process for the Postgraduate (PG) courses for the academic session 2024-25. All the candidates who registered themselves for admission can check and download the first cut-off list from the Samarth Portal.

The admission process aims to fill up 8,500 PG seats, including approximately 5,000 seats in the BHU campus itself. Around 50,000 students had registered for the admission to PG course at the university. The last date for the registration was June 3.

The institute has extended the deadline due to the 2024 general elections.

BHU Admission 2024: Important dates

–– As per the official notice, the applicants need to accept the allotted seats within 48 hours i.e. June 13 till 11:59 AM.

–– For the candidates who accept the seat, the deadline for online document verification is June 14 till 11:59 AM.

–– Applicants need to pay a fee after the document verification has been done till June 15 at 11:59 AM.

–– The registration fee for the General category candidates is Rs 300, while for the applicants belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes and PwBD categories, the fee is Rs 150.

BHU Admission 2024: Documents required

–– Class 10th and Class 12th mark sheet

–– Under Graduate Mark sheet (including all semester mark sheets)

–– Birth Certificate

–– CUET PG 2024 scorecard

–– Passport Size Photograph

–– Address Proof

–– Income certificate

–– Disability certificate (if any)

–– Migration certificate from previous the institution (if applicable)

–– Category Certificate

Only those who selected BHU in the National Testing Agency (NTA) CUET PG 2024 are now eligible for admission to the university’s postgraduate programs.

Professor Bhaskar Bhattacharya, Chairman of the Central Admission Committee (CAC), BHU, was quoted by moneycontrol as saying, “The cutoff for postgraduate courses will be released on Tuesday. The seat allocation will also be live on the Samarth portal dashboard. Students can view the cutoff and proceed with admissions through their portals.”

Affiliated colleges such as DAV PG College, Vasant Kanya Mahavidyalaya Kamachha, Vasant Mahila Mahavidyalaya and Arya Mahila PG College are also part of the registration process.
