Students from Uttar Pradesh schools, private as well as government, are in for several holiday treats in the last four months of 2024. According to the information, the months are expected to observe numerous festivals and anniversaries. Here is a detailed list of all the school holidays expected in UP schools. The information was released by the UP School Education Department in the Holiday Calendar 2024, around the commencement of the 2023-24 academic session. According to the calendar, in the months between September to December, the UP schools will remain closed on several occasions, big and small. The calendar has listed all the festivals to take place in the months, excluding the winter break and the exam study leaves.

In September, the schools will stay closed for two days. First, on September 16 for the occasion of Eid-e-Milad, which is a Monday. The second is the following day, September 17, which is for Anant Chaturdashi/ Vishwakarma Puja. The latter is a restricted holiday, which means some schools may remain open. Some schools may remain closed for Ganesh Chaturthi.

Earlier this year, the winter break across several states in the country including Uttar Pradesh, was to observe the winter break from December 31, 2023 to January 14, 2024. Due to the extreme cold wave, the period was extended till late January. The measures were also taken by the states like Haryana and Chandigarh, as per the reports.
