The Common Eligibility Test (CET) is a recruitment exam administered by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) for the Group C and Group D Government Jobs in Haryana. The exam is conducted at two levels Prelims and Mains.

Earlier in July this year, the Haryana government announced 15,755 vacancies for various Group C posts (Group 1, 2, 56, and 57) and Group C (Commerce Group, Steno Group) through this recruitment process. Group 57 includes 7,072 job openings in the Haryana government for 12th-pass candidates.

The board announced the CET Prelims revised result on June 25 and the  registration for HSSC CET Mains Exam 2024 began on July 21. The Haryana CET Prelims exam consisted of 100 multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 95 marks. For every right answer candidates were awarded 0.95 marks, while no marks were deducted for any wrong attempts.

However, the Haryana CET Mains Exam 2024 was conducted for candidates who qualify in the prelims examination. It comprised three subjects, that is, Haryana GK (20 per cent weightage), Computer (10 per cent weightage) and the concerned subject (70 per cent weightage).
