Meet Shashank Jaiswal, The Delhi IPS Officer Who’s Viral For Saving Road Accident Victim
The officer saved the life of a road accident victim near Mahipalpur bypass in South Delhi.

IPS officer Shashank Jaiswal is currently working as the DCP of the Traffic Head Quarter and VVIP route in Delhi Police. Late in the night on September 2, the officer saved the life of a road accident victim near Mahipalpur bypass in South Delhi with some quick thinking and assistance. He not only took the injured person to the hospital, but also offered to bear the cost of his treatment. In light of this incident, the efficiency of Shashank Jaiswal is being discussed. While returning home from his patrol duty, Jaiswal noticed a crowd gathered near Mahipalpur bypass around 8.10 pm. Seeing the crowd, he stopped there. Upon interrogation, he got to know that a man was bleeding heavily and was lying motionless beside a fallen motorcycle.

He saw no one from the crowd was helping the injured man so without wasting time, he called for an auto and took him to the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre in Vasant Kunj. On the journey to the hospital, he kept instructing his other team members to clear the way for the emergency trip.

After the treatment of the injured person began, the local police also arrived and he informed them about the matter. Police identified the victim as Anil Kumar, a resident of Rangpuri, near the accident site. Jaiswal acknowledged the role of several individuals who assisted in the rescue. He specifically mentioned the autorickshaw driver Deepak Pal, cab driver Deepak, and traffic constables Jasbir and Shailesh for their timely cooperation.

IPS Shashank Jaiswal is a resident of Delhi. He completed his BTech from Delhi Technical University in 2006 and got an MBA degree from IIM Kozhikode. After completing his MBA, he even worked in the private sector with a good salary package. Suddenly, he decided to leave the job and start preparing for the UPSC exam. He wanted to join the civil service and help the people in need. His hard work paid off and he secured the 444th rank in the UPSC Civil Service Examination. He scored a total of 793 marks in the UPSC CSE exam and was selected as an IPS officer. IPS Shashank Jaiswal led the Delhi Police on the special occasion of Independence Day 2023.
