PM Modi’s ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ to Reach Every Student Even in Remotest Corners via Satellite, Radio, Social Media
The education ministry has asked to issue instructions to officials to make necessary arrangements so that all students in Class VI and above across schools and other institutions, can view or hear the telecast

The central government has asked all ministries and departments to ensure that the upcoming ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ event reaches students in every corner of the country, including by broadcasting in remote areas via Edusat – a government communication satellite exclusively for the education sector – internet access devices and on radio.

Pariksha Pe Charcha, or PPC, is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s annual interaction with school students, teachers and parents. In this, he addresses queries on exam-related stress and anxiety. This will see the seventh edition of PPC, which is to be held at the Bharat Mandapam, ITPO, Pragati Maidan on January 29.

The education ministry, in a letter to all ministries and departments, directed them to issue instructions to officials to make necessary arrangements so that all students in Class VI and above across schools and other educational institutions, can view or hear the telecast.

“Apart from television broadcast, the viewing facility may also be arranged through Edusat and also on internet access devices such as computers, laptops, mobiles among others. For remote areas, where arranging television viewing is not possible, radio/transistors may be used to listen to the prime minister’s interaction… This may kindly be accorded top priority,” the letter read.

It also said the interaction will be broadcast live by Doordarshan through DD National, DD News and DD India. It will also be available through live airing on radio channels, including All India Radio medium wave and All India Radio FM channel. The event will also be live streamed on government websites such as PMO, MoE (including its YouTube and Swayamprabha channels), Doordarshan, MyGov.in and Facebook Live.

The interaction will be with students from Class IX and above selected through a competition on the MyGov app.

According to the education ministry, more than one crore people including students, teachers, and parents — the highest ever since the event started in 2018 — have registered this year. Over 90 lakh students, more than 8 lakh teachers, and around 2 lakh parents have registered on the MyGov portal so far.

Last year, a total of 38.80 lakh students, of which 16 lakh were from state boards, had registered for the event, the ministry had said in a statement earlier this month. It also said this year the programme will be held in a town hall format starting from 11 am. At least 4,000 participants will be interacting with Prime Minister Modi. Two students and a teacher from each state and UT and winners of the Kala Utsav and the Veer Gatha competition may be invited as special guests for the main event.

PPC is part of the larger movement Exam Warriors, led by the PM, who has previously written a book on the subject, about creating a stress-free environment where the unique individuality of each child is celebrated, encouraged and allowed to express itself fully.
