The Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board (TN TRB) has extended the examination date for the direct recruitment of Graduate Teachers / Block Resource Teacher Educators (BRTE) exam. According to the official notification, the board has now scheduled the examination on February 4, 2024. The decision comes after receiving requests from candidates affected by heavy rain and flood to defer the examination. Earlier, the Tamil Nadu Teacher Recruitment examination (OMR-based) was scheduled to be conducted on January 7, 2024.

As per the notification released, following heavy rains and subsequent flooding in the southern districts of the state, which is affecting candidates, the board has decided to postpone the exam. A request was made to the Chief Minister to postpone the examination, and after his approval, the board deferred the exam date in a bid to provide convenience for the applicants and also to the employees in affected areas.

Candidates who are willing to appear for the examination can go to the official website of Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board at www.trb.tn.gov.in and download the admit card. In addition to that, the board aims to fill up a total of 2,222 posts in the organisation under this recruitment drive. It is to be noted that the registration process began on October 25 and culminated on November 30.

TN TRB RECRUITMENT 2023: HOW TO DOWNLOAD ADMIT CARD

Step 1: Candidates need to go to the official website of Tamil Nadu Teachers Recruitment Board at www.trb.tn.gov.in.

Step 2: Open the Graduate Teachers/ BRTE admit card link available on the webpage.

Step 3: Key in your login credentials, such as your login ID and password.

Step 4: Hit submit and your TN TRB exam admit card will be presented on the screen.

Step 5: Download the admit card and take a printout of the same for the main day.

Talking about the exam pattern, the Tamil Nadu Teacher Recruitment examination includes two papers: Paper I and Paper II. Both papers are conducted in OMR format and will contain objective-type multiple-choice questions. Paper I focuses on a compulsory Tamil language eligibility test, which will carry 50 marks, while Paper II involves a subject-specific test carrying 150 marks. The overall duration of the examination is 3 hours.

Applicants will be shortlisted on the basis of the compulsory Tamil language eligibility test, followed by the written examination. After clearing both examinations, candidates need to go through document verification.
