The application window for the Combined Defence Services (CDS 1) will soon be closed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Candidates who are left to apply for the exam can visit the official website of the Union Public Service Commission at upsconline.nic.in and fill out the application form to appear for the CDS 1 exam. Candidates should note that the application window opened on December 20, 2024, and they have until January 9, 2024, to apply for the recruitment.

According to the official schedule released by the Union Public Service Commission, the Combined Defence Services (CDS 1) exam 2024 is scheduled to take place on April 21. The CDS exam will be held in 70 cities across the country.

UPSC CDS 1 2024: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Educational Qualification: To be eligible for the CDS exam, candidates need to be a graduate of a recognised university. One must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering to enter the Navy, but to join the Air Force Academy, one must have passed Physics and Chemistry in Class 12 along with a Bachelor’s degree.

Age limit: Candidates applying for the CDS exam for Air Force and Navy must be between the age gap of 19 to 23 years and for Officers Training Academy, they must be 19 to 24 years of age.

UPSC CDS 1 2024: HOW TO APPLY

Step 1: Candidates need to visit the official website of the Union Public Service Commission at upsconline.nic.in to apply for the CDS I exam.

Step 2: Then, log in to the account using your credentials

Step 3: Fill out the application form as asked for part 1 registration

Step 4: Upload the necessary scanned documents in the mentioned format and pay the prescribed application fees.

Step 5: Select the examination centre and hit submit

Step 6: Download the submitted application form and print a hardcopy of the same for future reference

The Union Public Service Commission conducts the Combined Defence Services (CDS) exam twice a year for the recruitment of Commissioned Officers in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force.

The UPSC CDS exams are held in two phases — a written examination followed by an interview round. The written exam carries 100 marks, and the time for the exam is 2 hours. The UPSC CDS examination is for IMA, INA, and AFA posts. It comprises three papers: English language, general knowledge, and elementary mathematics.
