After passing class 10th board exams, the first choice of many candidates is to pursue engineering and get admission in the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). For this, candidates have to pass the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams. Only then can they fulfil their dream of studying at IIT. Today, let us know about a course where you can get admission in IIT without these exams. According to reports, one can take admission into IIT Madras to pursue the course of Data Science. The application process for this course of the September 2024 batch is ongoing. It will close on September 15, 2024. All interested candidates can apply for the IIT-M BS degree course for Data Science and Applications through the official website of IIT Madras, iitm.ac.in. The qualifier exam will be held on October 27, 2024, and the result of the qualifier exam will be released on November 1, 2024.

Eligibility criteria:

Candidates who have passed the 12th or equivalent examination can apply regardless of age or educational background. School students who have passed their class 11th final examination can apply regardless of their group/stream/board; those who are eligible can join this program after passing class 12th.

How to apply:

1. Visit the official website of IIT Madras, iitm.ac.in.

2. Click on the Study at IITM link available on the ticker of the home page.

3. A new drop-down box will open where candidates have to click on Non-Campus BS Degree.

4. Click on the Data Science Course, and again, a new page will open.

5. Click on the registration link and fill in the details.

6. Fill out the application form by logging into the account.

7. Pay the application fee and click on the submit button.

8. Keep a hard copy of it for future reference.

Application Fee:

1. For General Category/OBC candidates: Rs 3000 application fee

2. For SC/ST category/PWD (>= 40% disability) candidates: Rs 1500 application fee for

3. SC/ST category/PWD (>= 40% disability) candidates: Rs. 750

Candidates who opt to write the qualifier exam at an exam centre outside India will have to pay an additional exam facilitation fee. The payment must be made through online mode.
