Vicky Kaushal Hints At Action Movie With The Great Indian Family Director: 'I Told Him...' | Exclusive

While Vicky Kaushal has impressed many with his portrayal as an army officer in films like Raazi and Uri: The Surgical Strike, his fans now want to see him doing a full-fledged action role. And that’s a sentiment that resonates with the actor too. That’s why he was elated when Vijay Krishna Acharya approached him for a role in his next. Acharya’s known for directing action films like Thugs Of Hindostan and Dhoom 3. Needless to say, Kaushal thought that he would be getting to do some high-octane action sequences in his new film as well.

As Kaushal gears up for the release of The Great Indian Family, News18 Showsha exclusively catches up with the actor, who reveals that he has already expressed his desire to be a part of Acharya’s action film in the near future. “He knows about it. I’ve told him that I want to do an action film with him someday. That’s a keeda in me I would want to explore. We keep discussing things on that front,” he tells us.

Vicky continued, “I told him much later while we were shooting that, ‘Sir, when I got a call that it’s your film and it’s YRF, I straightaway had a thought that it must be a big-scale action film.’ But when he started narrating the film, forget a stunt, there wasn’t even a slap or bike flying in the first thirty minutes! Vijay sir and I had a laugh about it.”

Kaushal’s last outing Zara Hatke Zara Bachke was in a zone similar to The Great Indian Family. Made on a medium budget, the film co-starring Sara Ali Khan became a super hit at the box office, thus giving Kaushal a clean hit after four years after Uri: The Surgical Strike. So, is he nervous about the bar that’s set very high by Zara Hatke Zara Bachke?

“I don’t think so. You don’t know what happens to a film till it really happens. When Zara Hatke Zara Bachke released, I was curious and anxious as to how it would perform. But we received a lot of love from the audience and I feel truly grateful to them. They gave the film a chance when many people said that it wasn’t meant for the theatres,” the 35-year-old states. Kaushal further continues, “All I can do is give my best to every film. Beyond that, I don’t take stress. Main uss pressure ka karunga kya? The audience will either accept or reject it. I can’t do anything even if I decided to take on the pressure.”

As he counts days to the release of The Great Indian Family, the Sardar Udham and Govinda Naam Mera actor on a parting note states that the one thing he’s most excited about is for his parents to watch the film that also stars Manushi Chhillar. “I’m looking forward for my mom and dad to watch the film. I know that once it’s over, we’ll have a lot to chat about. I want them to feel good by the end of it. They’ll watch it during the screening a day before the release,” he beams.
