Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare’s wedding reception was a star-studded affair. Making a royal statement with her presence, actor Kangana Ranaut who is known for her love for supporting and encouraging Indian crafts and craftsmanship, exuded grace and elegance in Pankaj S Heritage’s exquisite lehenga.
Designed by renowned revivalist Pankaj S, the lehenga adorned by Kangana is part of the Vrindavan collection. Known for celebrating Indian embroidery and embellishments, the unique lehenga tells the beautiful tales of Vrindavan.
Looking mystical and magical in the hues of pink and charcoal grey, the traditional rich heritage lehenga highlight’s Kangana’s soft features and creatively styled look. Describing Kangana’s traditional yet technically engineered ensemble, revivalist Pankaj S says, “The ensemble is from our recently launched Vrindavan collection. We have used khara gota, sanjhi craft (stencil-cut art), which comes from Mathura. The lehenga is crafted on a charcoal-based grey, which is also considered to be the colour of the river Jamuna. The odhna features a beautiful Krishna motif and the lehenga features a lotus pond inspired by pichwai. Our quintessential signature kanchuli (blouse) is a perfect amalgamation of gota work and stencil art.”
Each element beautifully comes together to create this statement piece. From lotus and cow motifs to Lord Krishna and the river Jamuna-inspired hue, Pankaj S weaves a soul-stirring narrative of heritage and art. Kangana’s flawless makeup was done by makeup artist Albert Chettiar and her hair was styled by Haseena Shaikh which beautifully complemented her traditional look.
Kangana also took to Instagram a few hours before she graced the reception and posted a series of images of herself posing in the extraordinary lehenga.
